Puppy Purchase Agreement — Template

Full text of the buyer Purchase Agreement for internal review. Buyers receive a puppy-specific, auto-filled version after deposit approval.

1. Parties

This Puppy Purchase Agreement (the “Agreement”) is entered into between TS2K Puppies (the “Breeder”) and the buyer identified on the accompanying purchase record (the “Buyer”).

2. The Puppy

The puppy described on the purchase record — including breed, sex, color, date of birth, and microchip ID — is the subject of this Agreement (the “Puppy”).

3. Purchase Price & Deposit

  • Total purchase price is stated on the puppy listing and confirmed in writing.
  • A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the Puppy and is applied toward the total purchase price.
  • Deposits may only be placed after the buyer's application is approved.
  • The remaining balance is due before the Puppy leaves the Breeder's care (pickup or delivery).
  • If the Buyer does not pay the balance by the agreed pickup date, the deposit is forfeited and the Puppy may be re-listed.
  • Deposits are non-refundable but transferable to another available TS2K puppy within 12 months.

4. Health Guarantee

  • The Puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian and is in apparent good health at the time of placement.
  • Parent dogs are genetically and veterinary screened.
  • The Buyer has 72 hours from pickup or delivery to have the Puppy examined by their own licensed veterinarian. If the vet finds a serious health issue, the Buyer may return the Puppy for a full refund or a replacement puppy of equal value.
  • The Breeder provides a 1-year genetic health guarantee against life-threatening congenital defects. Replacement (not cash refund) is the standard remedy and requires written documentation from a licensed veterinarian and return of the Puppy.
  • Guarantee does not cover injuries, parasites, illnesses arising after placement, conditions caused by neglect, accident, abuse, or improper care, or cosmetic and non-life-threatening conditions.

5. Spay / Neuter & Registration

The Puppy is sold as a companion pet. The Buyer agrees not to breed the Puppy and to spay or neuter at the age recommended by their veterinarian. Breeding rights, when offered, are addressed in a separate written agreement.

6. Buyer Responsibilities

  • Provide humane care: food, water, shelter, exercise, training, and socialization.
  • Maintain routine veterinary care, vaccinations, and parasite prevention.
  • Provide grooming appropriate to the breed.
  • Never relinquish the Puppy to a shelter or rescue (see Section 7).

7. Return-to-Breeder Agreement

If at any point during the Puppy's life the Buyer can no longer keep the Puppy, the Buyer agrees to return the Puppy to the Breeder rather than rehome, surrender, or relinquish to a shelter. Purchase price is not refunded on return.

8. Lifetime Breeder Support

The Breeder provides ongoing guidance, training and care questions, and breed support for the life of the Puppy.

9. Delivery & Risk of Loss

Risk of loss passes to the Buyer at the time the Puppy is released to the Buyer or the Buyer's designated transport. Delivery fees, when applicable, are quoted separately and due before transport.

10. Misrepresentation

The Breeder makes no guarantee as to adult size, coat color or texture, temperament beyond breed standard, or show/competition outcomes. The Buyer acknowledges these characteristics may vary.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state in which the Breeder operates. Any dispute will first be addressed in good faith between the parties.

12. Entire Agreement

This document, together with the puppy-specific purchase record signed by both parties, constitutes the entire Agreement and supersedes prior discussions.
